सूर्यसिद्धान्त ~400-500 CE में लिखा गया (कुछ portions और पुराने)। यह दुनिया का पहला detailed mathematical astronomy text है।

- सतयुग: 1,728,000 years
- त्रेतायुग: 1,296,000 years
- द्वापरयुग: 864,000 years
- कलियुग: 432,000 years (we're in this — started 3102 BCE)
- Total Mahayuga: 4,320,000 years
- 1000 Mahayugas = 1 Kalpa: 4.32 billion years (Brahma's "day")
- Brahma's lifespan: 100 years of his days = 311 trillion years
दिलचस्प: 4.32 billion years ≈ Earth's actual age (4.5 billion!) — coincidence या ancient insight?
Newton's Cosmology (1687)
Newton's Universe था: infinite, static, eternal। यदि finite होता — gravity से सब एक central point पर collapse हो जाता।
लेकिन एक paradox: यदि infinite — हर direction में infinite stars — रात को आसमान दिन जैसा चमकीला होना चाहिए। यह "Olbers' Paradox" है।
Einstein's General Relativity (1915)
Einstein ने gravity को redefine किया — यह force नहीं, spacetime curvature है।

Hubble's Discovery (1929) — Expanding Universe
Edwin Hubble ने Mount Wilson telescope से 1923-1929 में पाया:
- Andromeda actually एक separate galaxy है
- Galaxies हम से दूर जा रही हैं — "redshift"
- जितनी दूर galaxy, उतनी तेज़ी से दूर जा रही है
निष्कर्ष: Universe expand कर रहा है। यानी past में सब closer था।
Big Bang Theory (1927-2024)
Georges Lemaître ने 1927 में propose किया। Universe एक "primeval atom" से शुरू हुआ। आज established:
