What is Ayadi calculation in Vastu Shastra?
Ayadi (आयादि) is a classical Vastu formula that evaluates six auspicious qualities — Ayu, Vyaya, Amsha, Riksha, Vara, and Tithi — based on the perimeter of a building or plot. These six values together determine whether the property dimensions are harmonious for the occupants and will support prosperity, health, and stability.
How is Ayadi calculated?
Ayadi uses the perimeter of your property: Perimeter = 2 × (Length + Breadth) in feet. Six formulas are applied to this perimeter: Ayu = (P×8) mod 27, Vyaya = (P×9) mod 8, Amsha = (P×3) mod 8, Riksha = (P×8) mod 27, Vara = (P×6) mod 7, Tithi = (P×9) mod 30. Each result maps to a named quality with a specific Vastu verdict.
Which Vyaya is auspicious in Ayadi?
Vyaya values 1 (Dhruva – fixed/stable), 3 (Neta – leader), and 6 (Deva – divine) are auspicious. Vyaya 5 (Nidhan – death/loss), 7 (Rakshasa – evil), and 8 (Krura – cruel) are inauspicious and indicate the dimensions should be adjusted. Vyaya is the most critical of the six Ayadi values.
