This step is mandatory before any physical work. Have a qualified Vastu practitioner produce a zone map identifying the corrective line, target zone, and prescribed material. Installing without a map is not effective — and in some cases counterproductive.
Locate the specific directional line marked on your correction map within the physical space. Measure and mark both endpoints precisely with chalk or marker. The accuracy of this step determines the effectiveness of the entire correction.
Confirm the rod material matches the zone prescription: Aluminum → Water, Stainless Steel → Air, Copper → Fire, Brass → Earth, Iron → Space. Using the wrong material in a zone will not produce the intended correction and may cause mismatch in the correction plan.
Place the rod exactly along the marked corrective line. Orientation matters — one end should align as prescribed (typically toward the zone's directional axis). Keep the rod flat and stable. Do not tilt or angle unless specifically instructed.
Fix the rod in place using an appropriate method for your surface type (adhesive, clips, or surface mount). The rod must not shift or move once placed. Verify alignment a final time before securing permanently.
Photograph the installed position for reference. Note the installation date. Monitor the life areas governed by this zone over the next 21–30 days. Changes in those areas — positive or otherwise — indicate the correction is active.
